which they will never stop doing, regardless of reasoned arguments or not I suppose
That's probably the biggest reason to just not care. It doesn't change anything.
I'm not a huge fan of such garbage posts as "DEI slop" because it's low effort and says nothing. Beside the point though, most of these things you mention aren't necessarily guarantees a game is bad but remind us of past failures. It just lets me know that a game is not worth my limited time and resources. If I see a frizzy haired black woman on the cover of an EA game, that's two huge marks against it, because I've never seen anything good come out of that combination. I'm as much wary of GTA 6 coming from Rockstar, who hasn't made a decent game since GTA 5 which they then turned into a method of milking money out of the young, naive, or dumb. So it totally doesn't get my interest as someone who loved Vice City back in that day. Because I expect it to be a platform for them to sell me microtransactions, and nothing more. I don't even have to get to DEI, which I'm undecided on for this particular game.
The purpose of pattern recognition isn’t to successfully identify a pattern and then do exactly what you were going to do before you knew better anyways because there are some outliers.
Also, the mindset of “I’ll still roll the dice on every western AAA release because 1 out of 10 might be good” is completely retarded. This isn’t a court of law. We’re not trying to prove shit beyond a reasonable doubt. We’re not letting 10 woke games go free in order to prevent even one good game from failing. This industry is rotten and deserves to fail yesterday.
And it’s not like your time on this planet is infinite. You can only play so many video games before you die. Do you want to play woke games that happen to be “good”? Do you want to support devs who hate you because they happen to be talented? Have some fucking discipline and self respect. There are already more great old games than you could ever play in one lifetime. Be discerning. Include cultural and political factors in your criteria.
To that point I moved away from early purchases of a lot of AAA games just watching the patterns on pricing. They'd be out two months and be 60% off already. What a fool I felt like paying full price.
Now though, almost any game I consider is guilty of one of (or both) DEI and general shit quality until proven innocent. I just play old stuff. It's even cheaper for PC hardware that I haven't needed to upgrade in a handful of years now.
I upgraded not long ago, and I regret it. My most played games over the last year would have run just fine on my old hardware, and I see nothing in the high-end pipeline that remotely interests me. Hell, my own most reliable AAA developer is From Soft, and their next two releases are online multiplayer only slop. It’s bleak out there lol

Apologies, this was a bit of a rant.
