Just because you can't undo it's creation doesn't mean to can't de-Socialize people. I wouldn't say anything different about crack either. People can come off crack.
Someone with the flaw of character to be taken in by temptation will always have that flaw in them. Its why Alcoholics Anonymous have an entire system and X Days Sober instead of "cured."
Its one thing to have individuals fail these tests, that can be overwhelmed with community support. When the entire community has this flaw, enough to change the entire trajectory of your history, then there is no point in trying. Merely cutting off the runt of the litter and prioritizing the stronger ones.
