I hate KYC. I have a squeaky criminal record, I just don't marketers and ambulance chasers, and nearly inevitably, identity thieves having my info.
Apparently KYD (Know your donor) is a thing now. Pissed me off when I tried to donate to California fire victims. They have no negotiating power, they aren't getting me to give them my phone number and address to hound me for more donations for the rest of my days.
I was told the real reason for it is because charities have been given more to hire known foreign terrorist sympathizers to take jobs at charities and then bring the money to terrorists back home through remittances.
So instead of just not allowing known terrorist sympathizers come to a country they have no right to come to, they harass citizens trying to do a good thing and subject them to identity theft and endless begging.
