Too late to save their credibility, they promoted obvious juicers while arguing with a straight face that betting on your own team to win was disqualifying because...um...reasons!
The argument is you manage the games you bet on differently than the ones you don’t, overwork your pitchers, that sort of stuff.
Plus the settlement was that he would confess to that and the MLB would stop looking into if he also bet on his team to lose.
I don’t care about the man because he admitted to touching kids in court, but I digress.
Shoeless Joe however needs to get in yesterday.
Shoeless admitted to throwing the World Series.
And Rose should be in the Hall off of his playing career. His betting as a coach shouldn't invalidate his career as a player
Joe signed a confession. He was essentially illiterate & says they gave him a paper to make his mark on, he didn't know what it said.
At least that's iirc.
