Devils advocate: Why not? Theyre both under attack from an enemy force. I don't care about or agree with "Euro" identity, but it exists to a degree for some people as does 'white identity.' ..and the same way 'all of Christendom' needed to unite to repel the Muslim hordes at one point, they need to do so again. The exact identity maybe isnt important as long as it discriminates against the correct outgroups.
Now the more I think about it, the more disturbing
the French don't need solidarity with Germans!!!
sounds really, out of context, but I guess you didn't mean it in a bad way.
The French don't need solidarity with the Germans. Especially since the Germans keep invading and attempting to destroy French sovereignty for over 200 years.
We'll stick with France for a moment. The last time the Muslim hordes were repelled from Europe, it was not because all of Europe unified. Even all of France wasn't unified. It was just Charles Martell and a few other French leaders that realized vassalage under Martell was better than vassalage under Islam. Obviously, doing the right thing and defending your people is actually enough.
What most people calling for unity are actually doing is intentionally eradicating the differences between people. Greater Europa projects have always sought to eradicate the cultural distinctiveness of the peoples under the project. Currently, the EU is that. They've even used the language of 'supra-nationalism' to suddenly start screeching as if they were the far right about what it means to be a "Good European". "White" and "European" are being used interchangeably. One is demanding the coerced unification of all European peoples to accept the moral necessity of killing yourselves with foreigners, and the other is demanding the coerced unification of all European peoples to accept the moral necessity of killing the foreigners. In both cases, all European countries will operate under a socialist government that will eradicate difference and destroy the 'nation' they are supposedly meant to protect. In either case, it ends with someone saying: "There is no France. There is no Germany. There is only Europe."
Put it like this, I'm arguing the same thing from the Civic Nationalist point for the US. If you are American you are ceding your previous identities, ethnicities, and traditions. You assimilate into an American, and you abandon what you previously were to become one, otherwise you are the standard dual-citizen foreigner trying to extract wealth from Americans, but forever keeping your interest in a different country, as a colonist. The reason for this is America is a project which created a new nation from whole cloth. It requires a unification of all the dissimilar peoples of the continent, the colonies, and the people who voluntarily choose to become part of this effort.
