Making the big assumption that this is true and a real situation, because I do see it happening in smaller amounts around me, its a real problem with a lot of guys on the Trump train now. Its ironically the same problem a lot of the Left fell for with Obama back in 08.

They've lost themselves in the party and hype mindset that they've forgot reality and logistics. So drunk on dunking their opponents and victory, that their mind has blurred everything else to "he will win and then everything will just get better." No further thoughts necessary.

This is why doomers are such a constant crop. They've put little thoughts into anything beyond the handwaved "no brakes on this train! America gonna be great again!" and are shocked when there are growing pains, struggles, and dips that inevitably come in trying to do so.

Trump's plans were pretty well known, and his hate of Chinese imports even more so. This guy had more than enough time to begin to adjust his business out of a situation where abusing that shit was how they operated. And if they couldn't remain in the black while doing so, then well in polite terms "fuck em." We shouldn't gimp our country's economy to make sure failed businesses and industries can remain alive.
