Endless Legend is probably the most unique "not-Civilization but still just Civilization." I enjoy a lot of its more wierd factions and its biggest weakness, combat, isn't much worse than Civs utterly braindead combat.

Its a little older, though the sequel is coming soon, but its also a solid entry point into the entire Endless Franchise which cross numerous genres you'll probably enjoy as well.
