It’s a dual threat, esg funding is still very real, but you have to remember they pushed out everyone who isn’t a “true believer” that’s really what the blm/ metoo movements were, power grabs. So the only people even allowed in the industry must see a black female mongol and call it empowering. There’s also the phenomenon of toxic positivity caused by mass influxes of women and (insert “minority” here) who can’t tolerate any form of criticism so the products come out terribly because you get fired if you dare say “maybe we shouldn’t fuck up our entire franchise to appease women with septum piercings”.
Or I would say “you know everytime I go to the comic book store it’s almost always just guys buying comic books, so why are you so focused on girls in comics”?
I’m convinced they must still get money for black, lgbt, feminism/girl power. I thought this sort of thing was dying down but I guess not
