No, they only hated it when it happened to Sansa in season 5. Even though technically, it honestly shouldn't have been rape. By Westerosi law, Ramsey was not only completely within his rights to have sex with his bride after marrying her, it was expected and considered both his and her duty to start producing heirs the night of the marriage. Sansa honestly should have known that was going to happen when she agreed to Littlefinger's (completely boneheaded) decision to have them wed. It wasn't her first marriage after all, and unlike the one with Tyrion, this was something she had a choice in and ultimately agreed to, meaning she already consented to it.
No, fans hated the Season 1 scene it wasn't true to the source material. The scene in the book is completely consensual and HBO turned it into a rape scene for cheap shock value.
To be fair, it's as statutory rape as sex can get. Book Dany was younger, and it's a decision of desperation, not romance. No solid reason HBO couldn't have left the nuance in, and let viewers come to their own conclusions. Same industry that downgraded Glmli to slapstick foil in the 2nd and 3rd movies, because they utterly look down their audience.
Wasn't one of the plot points in the book that marriage without consummation resulted in no marriage taking place?
