While I comprehend WHY anyone on this site, forced to the margin of discourse as we are, would be aggrieved by that position at first pass, I think you're reading a bit much into it. He's angry at the twitterati, much as we are.
Okay, but that's hardly new. His viewpoint was always rooted in the old world of the 20th century consensus.

Not sure what exactly the "Twitterati" is, but whoever they are is afforded to the same free and anonymous speech as we are. Anyone who would say otherwise, or defend other people who are campaigning for the alternative, do not actually believe in free speech.

Anonymity is a means, not a end.

I'd make that deal.
A) that's not being offered
B) that makes no sense
C) anonymity is most definitely a fundamental right, as demonstrated by the secret ballot

If you think you need anonymity to be free then the question should be asked what you're trying to do with freedom.
In my experience, 99% of the time that freedom is being used to preach for someone else's death.
