This REALLY seems cultural as my grandparents gave their all to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
So I wouldn't say the existence of nuclear families is the issue, this disease of rampant narcissism is the core issue.
I mean of course it's cultural. The Clan model has always been the superior one, failkng that the extended family model.
