Its one of those wacky word games that makes me laugh.
"Extremism" just means "outside the norm" the magical assumption that the norm is even remotely good.
It totalitarianism at a metaphysical ontological scale. It's not enough to demand obedience and compliance BEING is a moral obligation. You must BE one of us.
Which shows how deep the hypocrisy goes. It's about strict conformance using the language of freedom and inclusive diversity where none actually exists.
There's that scene in The Wall where the kids get their masks and are dumped into the meat grinder, but it's the opposite, there's no individuality, the masks make everyone SEEM unique but they arent.
For me this isnt so much a rant about modernity but more about human nature, I don't think this is a left thing or even a recent thing most of human history is swill, and that's the reason why.
