He was totally wrong at the time, it was just the opposite.
The only thing that kept us from complacency and decay has been the eternal vigilance we've needed because of our racial problem. Ever single person in our whole history has had to watch their back, and the authoritarian police had an outlet for their aggression.
It looks like he's going to be right, but only because we changed the dynamic from one race with some minority problems to all minorities. Once whites get below 50% the country is over.
