Seems the type. "Religion," for people who hate religion, but love social justice. "Religion" for hippie dippy types without the principles, strength, or goodness to at least be Quakers. Say what you want about the latter, at least they seem to often be good and kind people.
The Quakers also have principles, and they stick to them. And if they do have to break them, it requires a mighty effort as well as still staying within those principles in some way. Like how the Quakers were against the Revolution and wanted to broker a peace treaty with King George, until he declared them to be traitors as well and then they fully backed the Revolution despite their pacifist teachings.
Yup. Modern Quakers tend to be liberal and progressive, but at least come from a place of good intentions, and have principles and conviction. They're good people, by and large.
Ahhh, UUs.
