With KCD2 and AC Shadows both promoting wildly inappropriate gay romance options, I’m wondering if we’ve reached a point where the gay is essentially mandatory in modern AAA western game dev? Are we going to see any strictly heterosexual player romances in any of these games going forward?
I didn’t buy AC Shadows because I don’t have brain damage. Asscreed games have been complete slop for like a decade, so no big loss when they decided to pozz the shit out of the latest entry. But KCD2 is a game I absolutely would have supported if not for the gay pozz. I’m never buying that shit regardless of discount, and that’s fine by me. Fuck ‘em.
I guess I’m curious to find out whether or not virtually all AAA western (story-based) games will be non-starters at conception going forward. If the gay is mandatory from here on out, I’m literally never buying another AAA western story-based game ever again. That’s probably not a bad thing anyways, but it still feels strange after decades of supporting this industry.
A further question is when was the last time we were free of faggotry in RPG romances, since it was still obtrusively present at least as far back as New Vegas. That leads to IMO a better question which is 'are RPG characters exclusively bioware-sexual now?' As in, is every romanceable character now bisexual as a result of making the player character a blank slate projection? Because if the answer is yes then you can never escape the faggotry - all the male chars in your game canonically suck dick, making them faggots. But if the answer is no, and there are still games containing characters of realistic pre-baked sexual orientations - as opposed to ciphers from commie propaganda who depict eternally flexible sexuality - then at least you have the option of straight characters in straight relationships, even if the game does contain others who are gay.
This is what makes KCD2 so egregious. KCD1 was explicitly the tale of a fixed main character, with certain immutable characteristics, interacting with other fixed characters. It was obviously this, and for those who are too retarded to differentiate between what I just described and blank slate writing, the devs also went on record and described it the way I have. There should have been no question of bioware-sexual interactions because of the nature of the story - but Warhorse went ahead and gayed up those established characters anyway in the sequel. It is far worse an example of sexual political propaganda than anything in any game made by or for the woke clique.
And I guess what KCD2 means for your question is that no, you're never free of faggotry any more, even when the very nature of the prior established canon means you should be.
You’re 100% right about KCD2. I’m sure you’ve seen that Vavra has since out and admitted that they put the gay romance in the game to escape accusations of sexism.
A lot of the anti-woke crowd lost all of their credibility going to bat hard for KCD2.
