I don't think there is a single corporation in the top 1000 market cap that isn't mostly dependent on government spending (or the spending of a contractor receiving govt money) for a significant portion of their revenue.
I'm sure that's true to some extent. My point is that we have legal order in the West that makes our market more appealing to foreigners looking to invest. That's why those places have "high-context" cultures; it's why doing business in the Middle-East and Asia involve many meetings, sometimes even meeting each others families or only doing business with people known to your family. Because you're less likely to cheat people close to you than complete strangers.
I don't need to meet the CEO or the board members to invest in a Western bank or open an account. I know the courts will protect me and the FDIC insures my money. I know the rule of law is strong here and financial crimes are prosecuted more seriously than drug crimes. There's a HUGE gap in culture and thinking that people don't consider when bringing shitskins here.
