They need to start having children again, though. They're speed running population collapse like there's a prize at the bottom of that box.
Vicious cycle. No time for kids when everyone works 100-hour weeks just to support the retirees and keep the economy from collapsing.
Either implement quarterly "purge nights" for anyone over 60 or go turbo moon shot on developing robots to take care of teh oldes.
Not a good idea in Japan's case as unlike the boomers in the West, the elderly in Japan vote the most and are very traditional/based.
Who do you think made the government there instead of locking down simply refused entry during covid? And who do you think resists a third world invasion of Japan the most?

Yup. Japan is not a utopia. Culturally, they created a dystopian nightmare.
Japan is a nation of 130,000,000 people on a few islands, they could drop by 99% and be fine. The population growth Ponzi scheme needs to stop and reverse at some point so it may as well happen now.
Japan has some of the highest rates of birth within wedlock. Japan has roughly the same total fertility as countries like Italy and Spain. Yet you never hear about that being a problem, probably because they already have been forced to import the 3rd world to "solve" that problem.
Population collapse is inevitable. Constant growth cannot be maintained, it will eventually plateau (at a minimum) and collapse. All kinds of growth is like that, not just population.
So bracing for the impact of a lowering population is a WAY better idea than importing 20 million 3rd world bottom feeders to prop things up. I think.
That would involve solving the woman problem. The goat fuckers are the only ones who manage to keep that in check.
