They already F'd up as Ubisoft SPONSORED a stream for a popular Vtuber Olivia Monroe to play AC Shadows on Twitch.
They F'd up the time as she played it at 7am which was the agreed time but Ubisoft misread the time as 7pm so nuked her stream and got her banned as a result, which was her first ban on Twitch ever.
Most retarded marketing staff ever here..
I've said this before, but it's impressive how thoroughly Ubisoft has mishandled every aspect of this. Not just inserting a DEI character front and center, but getting historical details on every level wrong, mixing up Japanese and other Asian cultures, terrible voice acting, ugly models that don't look Japanese, multiple instances of them disrespecting Japanese religion, technical issues, allegedly using a One Piece toy as a prop in promotional images, postponing the game due to the controversies but then picking the anniversary of a famous terrorist attack in Japan for the new release date....
The list just goes on and on and on. It's a comedy of unforced errors, and for it to happen with the one specific entry that AC fans had wished for for years is insane. How do you mess up your golden bullet this badly?
If you told me that the Ubisoft team behind AC Shadows saw a cursed videotape, got a phone call after saying "your next game will die at launch", I'd believe you at this point..
Now I have the mental image of Sadako blowing up the Ubisoft headquarters with TNT (via a TNT pump) after 7 days.
Now that is a movie I would watch on repeat
That theory about the guy there purposely tanking Ubisoft so he can buy majority share at a discount makes far too much sense. This level of incompetence just seems TOO incompetent to be real
