It's a Netflix show about boxers. In order to level out the 'testosterone', they had the main character get on his knees before a woman-in-a-man's-role (loan sharking business, she's tasering punks left and right) to beg for a job.
You can say many things about Netflix shows, but 'subtlety' isn't one of them.
I'll take your word for it. I've never spent a dime on any streaming service and I don't plan on starting anytime soon.
Hard to starboard!
Checked it out because I thought it had won some sort of Korean award (and wanted to see what kind of Netflix shows the Koreans would actually give an award to) but it was only for one of the actors.
South Korea is a ridiculously feminist country, so their views line up pretty well with netflix.
Which is ironic, because they make some of the most based, and masculine action movies.
The Assassin, No Tears for the Dead, The Man From Nowhere, A Bittersweet Life, and I Saw The Devil are some of the most badass and uncompromising films ever made.
New World is an easy 10/10 film that is all about masculine power plays in the criminal/corporate underworld that rivals the likes of The Godfather 2 in tone and depth.
We would never get recent films like the aforementioned out of the U.K., or the U.S.
There are no feminists more toxic than Korean feminists.
And that's why I sail the seas.
Wanted to watch Counterstrike for a one-off laugh with friends. Would never pay $12/mo with ads, up from $7 ad free.
Most Netflix shows are slop now, Cobra Kai really feels forced.
A shame. The first season was pretty good.
First season was great, second was meh, should've ended there.
I knew it went downhill once it got more plot twists than a soap opera.
South Korea at large is the most feminist country on the planet I think?
Tons of female-only spaces, one of the first countries to have a female president democratically elected, and extreme shrew behavior from women imo.
This isn't a netflix thing, its literally just a Korean thing.
You should watch itaewon street for a real feminist Korean drama. It had black people, trannies and a fat female main the male main gets with cause shes smart
I don't want to and you can't make me!
Draw the line at trenders.
Asian cinema is okay in a ton of cases, but as soon as a Western company (like Netflix) is involved you can throw it in the trash.
