Shane Gillis is that one 'normal' guy the rest of the misfit crowd is hiding behind in order to not appear like a raving Hollywoke liberal lunatic asylum.

'Every guy' Mike Meyers - from Austin Powers fame - was also supposed to give the same illusion but didn't quite understand why the show's producers wanted him there, so he did what came natural to him: start frothing at the mouth over Trump.
