That's also why they don't get Tolkien, it's not meant to represent a group of people, it's an abstraction of why those actions are evil. Those people have never been exposed to real evil (an unrepentant killer, for example) or they themselves are sociopaths
Normal people read LOTR and gets lost in a world of fantasy adventure and thrilling tales written by Tolkien, "oh no the people at Minas Tirith is being sieged by Sauron's orc army! the dark lord's forces of evil!"
Lefties reads LOTR and remains lost in their politics and see everything as an allegory to their warped worldview, "oh no the people at Minas Tirith is being seiged by Sauron's orc army! NEGROES!
