Its also strange as an appalachian, who has only known anxiety and depression, to read about people who claim anxiety is keeping them from doing whatever. I was taught as a toddler that even if your anxious you cant let it stop you from doing what you want to do. Appalachia is so fucking different than the mainstream culture, but most people have no clue.
I watched my mom die slowly from aids, grew up dirt poor, flunked out of college, ended up even broker than dirt poor. Despite all that, I dont really worry about the future and most of my depression stems from the fact ive been suffering from hyper para thyroidism for at least 5 years now since I was forced to live with that insane blood pressure. I caught it around 200/160 a few times during the night when I would actually experience the irregular heart rhythms, mainly while sleeping.
It was hilarious when WCB and the doctors kept telling me it was just anxiety when anxiety is a main symptom of cardiac sensitization.
