I'm sure the execs were happy to get some of the company's money back on concord, even if it was precious little, lol.

The cynic in me says that, even there-- the 'right' people drew paychecks from Sony, therefore Concord succeeded as a money laundering operation even while failing as a video game

wouldn't shock me. they sure rubbed it in the faces of us evil racist, mysogynist fascists that... <checks notes> didn't actually buy the game....

They didn't get any money back for Concord. They gave a refund to anyone who bought it, just so they could write it off as a complete loss on their taxes.
