Your statement is incorrect. The sovereign of the various Netherlandish statelets also happened to be King of Spain (= the various kingdoms in Iberia). In no way were they 'owned by Spain'.
But that's nit-picking something that nearly everyone gets wrong. I assumed you couldn't possibly be claiming that Jews were the cause of a Calvinist revolt.
