I may not be entirely familiar with the subject, but I thought that a lot of young men were coerced into marriage by local girls basically anywhere they're dispatched, whether that be elsewhere in the US or in another country. I wouldn't be surprised if a majority of these women really were German girls that predatorily targeted young soldiers when they're off-duty in town, in local pubs.
