Yeah, he's cooked. Nolan is quickly losing all his credibility. I defended Inception and people eventually wrapped their heads around it, but Tenet is a fucking mess. Oppenheimer is fine, but it's a departure from what we expect from him. Now this? The guy seems kinda lost. Adapting classical material is what old school directors did to stay employed while they figured out their next big move. He's turning into Ridley Scott.
I hope at some point this mindset that black/female/gay must be in everything even if it doesn’t make sense goes away. Same with race and gender swapping. Making a period piece with people that look accurate for the period shouldn’t be difficult
I guess the new craze is to cast black people as Greek gods. It's happened in so many recent films.
