2016 hit the sweet spot for me. It delivered the power fantasy experience that I crave in a first person shooter and was enough of a throwback to the days of playing Heretic back in the 90s.
Doom Eternal though? Yeah, fuck all of that. I uninstalled once I clipped through the floor. I don't want a puzzle shooter and I don't want the Doom Marine to have lore beyond "they killed my bunny so now I am going to murder all of Hell".
