There might be confusion on what it means for gay content to be mandatory. The old and generally understood definition of an 'unskippable cutscene' means you can't press a button or anything to skip past it. This hasn't been a thing in games for while though. I think what a lot of people mean by it now though is it's something you're garunteed to come across in the main story. Having your father's sword stolen by Runt in the first game was uskippable, even though you could press a button to end the cutscene and get right into the fight.
