That's not out of the ordinary for monster hunter....they are just doing more of what they have always done.

Well, for the first time in the serie, they will remove armor locked by gender, so what you said is wrong, it's not "what they have always done", it's going further and further.

At this point, if you keep falling for the slippery slope, no one can help you.

By more I meant going further with there same style.

You could always give you male character a gay voice.

I've only played World and Rise. And World at least still had standard male and female, with locked in voice, 2 distinct walking cycles and the armour looked different on the guy and girl. Rise went a bit further, with body type and voices. (And it only had the masculine walking cycle, but I assume that's more to do with the general limitations of that game, instead of wokery.) I think you could give facial hair to anyone in either game, but I don't remember.

But in Wilds you can mix and match everything, even the costumes.
