I'm not sure if it's just a copypasta on Twitter, but it's so true that Oliver's show is a perfect example of Pavlovian conditioning.

His entire show is:

motormouth stream of consciousness leftist BS
pause with non sequitur to mock a right-wing figure with associated laugh track
no chance for a recovery phase or for the listener to actually break down the quip
immediate segue back into motormoutn propaganda
repeat
