[Afro Samurai is Japanese](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takashi_Okazaki#:~:text=Takashi%20Okazaki%20(%E5%B2%A1%E5%B4%8E%20%E8%83%BD%E5%A3%AB,the%20manga%20series%20Afro%20Samurai.) and is set in some vague time in the future, there are cyborgs and resurrection machines right along side Edo period architecture. It's surreal so who cares?
