I respectfully disagree. I think he could have did everything "right" and his daughter still turned out like that. It's ackshually other things that make me skeptical of him such as his unapologetic obsession with communist Soviet memorabilia. Imagine if someone slightly admired Third Reich tech or whatever. That and his "just find a nice woman when you're young" rhetoric where he acts like he met his wife when they were both kids and they were high school sweethearts and have always been together when that's not quite the truth at all. Or his drug use. Or his other hypocritical behavior. Oh who am I kidding, it probably was JP's fault his daughter turned out how she did.

It used to be that people revealed more information about themselves as a show of trust and vulnerability. Now its almost always being done as a form of manipulation to try and use you, like a woman crying about being abused on the first date.
Worse yet, its also usually being done to debase themselves in front of some political ideologues to gain acceptance into their good graces in a form of purity test.
