Well that's because most people cannot palate or stomach being a racist, a sexist, or anything of the sort, but those are fundamental to actually addressing the issues we have and sort out our issues.
Attempting to force normies to do so is how elections will be lost, support will be decimated, and the Right will continue to lose further ground. We are far too gone down the hole to just rip a bandaid off and be properly represented by somebody good for us, it has to be done in steps to succeed because voting still exists and we cannot escape that. Harris ran one of the worst campaigns in history and still managed to (legitimately) get like 40% of the country on her side.
And its important to note that at no point was this issue ever on the actual table yet. This is Elon, Vivek, and the original appointment who aren't in charge of immigration in the slightest having a terrible opinion on it, no different than RFKs horrible fucking opinions on topics on topics he isn't appointed too (yet nobody said MAGA was over for his nonsense).
While the guy actually in charge of immigration has been pretty staunch on cracking down on fucking all of it legal or not. So unless Trump just pulled his name out of a hat, that's the only important take he has on it. A generic "I use it sometimes, it worked out great" statement done over the phone to a random news outlet (completely out of character for him to begin with) just means he isn't for zero immigration, and nobody should expect that level of extreme position from a mainstream politician yet. Vance himself has already responded in complete opposition to the "sports team" comments, as well. Hold his ear to the issue, but so far his actual actions have in fact been towards reducing them to begin with despite everyone acting like he is in favor of flooding Indians in.
But somehow that last point is completely lost in this. All the normal grifter heads are present and treating it like he is already in office and the draft of legislation is being passed, and when people started to point out he hasn't even commented on it this singular interview coincidentally just shows up without a Tweet or anything Trump normally does when responding to everything else.
So yes, it does seem like a proper schism that we should be discussing is being blown up to something bigger than it is by actors who have bad intentions. Likely because Trump was gaining steam and the Right was starting to win harder, and what better way for the Left to gain the upperhand than to get people saying this:
Which benefits them more than it does any of us, including those who are furious over this.
Because that's all that will happen here. We either work with a guy who has shown willingness to make progress on the issue, or we throw our toys out like children and end it all to give the Left back its ground and end up with the Indian flood anyway.
