Leftists were forced to flip a switch after decades (and trillions of dollars) of government intervention yielded no positive changes in black behavior or outcomes. The failure of leftist policy to mold black Americans into equally productive and law-abiding citizens was so monumental and obvious that the entire paradigm had to be replaced. Now there is no almost no attempt by leftists to improve the behavior and tendencies of the black demographic. Instead, leftists target whites with social engineering designed to reduce and remove all standards for black behavior. TLDR: at some point, the left became just as “race realist” as the right, except the left’s solution to the problem is “they are perfect as they are and you have to worship them” versus the right’s solution of “they are not perfect, and we don’t have to pretend they are”.
