Lots of people out there want to control the medium as nothing more than a vehicle with which to push their own worldview on others. These attacks can come from either side of the left/right divide.
Hard agree.
The reason why we're seeing the Right side of the equation is that the right has a chance at cultural relevance with the recent election. It's Power's corrupting influence, as usual.
