We know that there will be "Trump won because of gamergate!!" articles in the coming days, so what if we tried to mock them by turning something similar back on them.
Something like "Kamala lost because of Dustborn" or any other ultra-woke piece of media. Make them realize that stupid shit like that is why nobody likes their politics.
I say, fuck it, take credit for it.
Trump is GamerGate.
Good. Make them fear us.
For too long the Right has shied away from embracing the lessons of Niccolo Machiavelli. They keep wanting to be loved when if you must choose only one, the correct choice is to be feared.
I disagree with that. Fear doesn't promote a stable power base. Love & Respect do.
It doesn't matter in our case because we are dealing with something akin to demons who see us deontologically evil. You can't ask that to love you.
Well ideally you aim to achieve both, but if you can't have both you need to be feared. It's the old Starship Troopers quote: all authority is derived from violence. Why? Because people are afraid to suffer violence.
I'm critiquing the right for constantly wanting to be loved and actively refusing to cultivate any sort of fear. Then they end up having no power and not learning the lesson and being completely ineffectual. If you're not feared then you represent no threat and you wield no actual power.
I don't totally disagree, but there is a misnomer. The authority of your loved ones doesn't come from their potential violence against you, but a feeling that you have disappointed them, and that you failed in your obligation to them. It hurts you to feel that way, but it is not real violence. Starship Troopers is explaining governmental authority. Moral authority still exists, and political authority can utilize both.
I accept your point, and it's still true. The right wants to be invited to the table, not understanding that they are what's for dinner.
