On the other hand, yeah, the kid thinking he's safe back there yelling at him getting a surprise probably deserved it. Media will probably spin it as him being upset about him using a no no word (pro gay sentiment) when the reality is probably closer to the opposite. Homosexuality is revolting to any straight man and he wanted to teach the kid who called his brother gay a lesson (anti gay sentiment).
Football players were some of the last people I knew to get violently upset if someone implied they were gay. I have no idea why. I also am revolted by homosexuality, but I don't really care about people calling me gay.
