I don't remember how I got to this twitter thread before, but it came up after the most recent presidential debate. Supposedly their stats are getting to the FBI, or at least eventually.

NIBRS non-participation was an issue in 2021, when it may have downplayed the growth in the crime level. But, as @Crimealytics has argued, it's just not an issue anymore, both because the FBI is letting PDs report under SRS, and because UCR coverage grew.
