I'm not a gun person, but does 'assault weapons' actually mean anything?
As far as I can tell it means 'gun is black and scary looking'.
You're correct. "Assault rifle" means something. "Assault weapon" is like wanting to ban cars that look fast.
Basically it’s semi automatic rifle that looks like an automatic rifle so scary!
