"DEI wasn't the reason this game was bad / shut down / didn't sell well" etc
Especially from gaming journalists.
Y'know, let's say I believe you, (I don't) but for the sake of argument, I'll meet you half way there. A lot of games have come and gone this year, and I've noticed DEI at every single one of their funerals. It might not be the only cause, but when a game dies, there they are. That's a little suspect don't you think?
Secondly, if DEI wasn't an issue (it's totally not you guys) where the fuck is the audience this was for? Why make a 200 million dollar game (potentially 300 million with marketing and advertising) only for less than 25,000 people?
It's almost like the modern audience isn't there. And you're only making this to help kill big studios so we can't have nice things.
Yep, Forspoken, Hyenas, Concord, Suicide Squad, etc, all were heavily pushing leftist politics and were subsequently ignored by the vast majority of the gaming audience.
A paid Overwatch clone is a hard sell to start with, throw ugly ass DEI characters in it and you get an even tougher sell. It was a generic version of multiple free games, shit was fucked from the start.
Does $300 million down the drain really mean anything when the money is all fake and gay to begin with? If the entire budget for this disaster was just money laundered into the company's coffers directly from the money printer going brrr because evil people want this abomination made...would we even know and would it actually force the company to reconsider its actions? I don't think it would and I fear that scenario is more plausible than zero.
I'd argue it's a pretty tired genre at this point and they just failed to read the room and realize not only has the pie been eaten, but others already beat them to the crumbs.... but those were some ROUGH character designs.
kill big studios making soulless microtransaction live service cancer
Huh. Maybe we should send ubisoft and bethesda a flood of emails telling them they need to increase DEI shit. And we can finally be rid of their turbocancer.
DEI infecting halo tv show may have been a good thing - it might finally force them to stop trying to puppet the corpse around like a skinsuit with their cancer and we can all pretend halo ended with bungie. And then we can all pretend the bungie name wasn't skinsuited by a nearly unrecognizable corporate mass that produced an absolute travesty twice over.
Seriously, how did destiny even get a sequel? I remember that shitpile bombing.
When two cancers fight, everybody wins. Fuck the AAA gaming industry.
You know what I noticed a lot of?

Cult members will never admit that DEI/Woke/Progressive garbage is ever the reason for anything failing. They always have an excuse.
Overwatch and Apex already have the DEI shooter audience. And even Overwatch had to start with attractive characters.
Yeah, Overwatch morphed into the freakshow it is now over time, and the transition ;) was also spread over two games. Boiling frog for sure.

Dustborn and Flintlock come to mind as well.
All the games you mentioned and I mentioned had one thing in common.
And now we have Fairgame$ to look forward to.

Cancer isn't what causes people to die. When a person allegedly "dies with cancer", 95% of their body isn't made of cancer.

Indeed, it wasn't. I hope Sony double and triple downs on it. Let's root for them to
