If you mean the 'hate the game' phrase then degens warped the meaning of it.
It was a gamer phrase originally on how give us a game and if it's sub par within a day we'll find 30 exploits to beat a high level boss with starter gear or get infinite resources making the devs cry or be exasperated having to fix it even though we'll find NEW exploits within a week.
The moral is don't make a shit system and expect people not exploit it. Have a good foundation and we wouldn't WANT to exploit it.
Fairly certain it originated before gaming entirely, given it's prevalence in the jogger population and common use as cover for criminal behavior. At least it definitely predates the era where games getting frequent post release patches became common. You may be confused on it's origins.
The phrase is used for denying any accountability for personal actions.
This is correct, the phrase dates back to the eighties or earlier.
