Go to any of the Canadian Reddit forums for example that allow discussion and man, it's fuck the government, fuck immigrants, who do you think controls everything, etc... it's not what it was like 5 years ago.
Meanwhile on here it's like hello KIA2, I'd like to have a discussion on... Banned. DOM didn't like your haircut.
The canadian subreddit was wild. I went to Canada recently, and it was a multicultural shit hole so I popped on reddit just to see what was posted and I was blown away. People were massively upvoted for pajeet hate etc. Every comment was in favor of some level of deportation and closing down the borders.
Yeah, I posted a slightly neutral sounding comment and I got attacked for not being right wing enough. I'm like uhhhh what the fuck happened to Reddit. Canada broke it.
Sounds like it's a revolution. This is what happens with censorship and authoritarian regimes: things stay under control until shit gets so bad they can't be contained anymore.
Happens in real life, happens in subreddits. Can happen to reddit as a whole if the pendulum swings back hard enough.
