It's because the left has no absolute morality. Abusing your authority, and beating up a 78 year old with a bat - while it could be bad in certain situations - is totally acceptable, so long as it's done with the correct politics behind it. Seriously - I challenge anyone to provide a bunch of cases of the left balking at absolutely disgusting violence, hypocrisy, etc. when it's done by their side against their political opponents. It doesn't happen. They don't care. Instead, you see gloating. This sort of garbage is all over Twitter, all over Reddit, etc. They create entire subs to celebrate stuff like this.
It's like this every single time the left seizes power somewhere, too. Massive campaigns of violence. Purges. Everyone stealing from others. People lying to authorities about their neighbors. Anything/everything is acceptable when the left gains control.
And, it's sold to the masses the exact same way, every single time: "you're the oppressed! The only reason your life isn't as great as you want is because of those other people. Put us in charge, and surely we will
give you moreput you on top".Then you get the exact same thing that always happens: The unwashed masses (and the intellectual class that lead them into the trap) are suckered into that easy message every single time, and then... On noes! It turns out that there is still massive disparity, but now it's determined by your place in The Party. There is still an "elite" class (The Party heads), who now have all the goodies, now practice as much nepotism and favoritism as they want, now make all the rules and can have you (and your family) imprisoned with zero due process, and now - as opposed to the capitalist system where at least you had a chance to work hard and improve your lot, or at least your children's lot - you are a permanent peasant.
This is the left. This is who they are. This is how it always works out.
Lenin called this principle "who, whom". That is, they don't care what is being done, they only care who is doing it to whom.
The ends justify the means. If you think your cause is a moral emergency, you can break the rules in pursuit of the cause.
