born in america to hmong refugee parents. I grew up around some of those kids. they're pretty clannish and their communities are insular. they mind their own business and tend to their own families so I really didn't care about them one way or another.

some of the kids were fine and just went with it.. some of them hated their communities and entirely rejected them. they moved out young, got in cross racial relationships, got pregnant, and generally fell apart.

this was sheng thao's story too. her first child's father was arrested for domestic violence several times. look at her family photo today. she was born in '85 so she was made for the permanently disappointed DEI class. no surprise she's a chair at the NAACP, eh?

then.. the duongs are from singapore. this is all a different form of common corruption. in the past, it wouldn't have risen past page 3A in the local paper, but because her skin isn't white she failed upward far enough for it to all become a national story.
