IIRC they're just opening an American subsidiary (whose job will apparently be to just focus on pushing sales & the planning of events in the States, not screwing around with the talents' content), not pulling a Sony and moving their HQ from Japan to California altogether, thank Christ. But yes, ideally Hololive will keep the West and its pozloading tendencies at several arms' lengths for much longer.
Yeah, they have already said the US Branch basically only exist to give them an easier means of personnel being able to travel, and to allow them an easier route to buy warehouse space for the purpose of merch sales. It is not going to do much else.
As long as Holo keeps the "Absolutely no politics" policy in place, where it can be a fireable offense to bring up stuff on stream, they will be fine. And besides, the handful of talents they have that push that line have tended more toward the based side than the woke side (ironically enough).
