That's part the reason things got as bad as they have. Reactionary Content Industry is plenty powerful itself and drives constant engagement and ragebait clicks to all these people.
Ignoring them is never the right choice, but the fact that guys like G+G and Doomcock have made an entire career out of posting "This time she IS FINISHED" weekly while their entire audience hatewatches everything has only exacerbated it.

Personally, I did years ago when I realized it was becoming an industry and most of them were so uncultured outside of mainstream slop.
