Expecting? It's already happened well before 3D printing. My FLGS has a ton of totally-not 40k, totally not D&D, etc. models.

As for 3D printing, Neckbeardia (previously known for reading various *chan posts) sell a LOT of looks-like models. https://neckbeardia.co.uk/

And yes, I'm shilling for them. I used to listen to them a lot when I had more free time and I like their buddy GuardBro.

This isn't too surprising, but I really haven't been following this too closely. Good to see it's already going, but the demand for this is only going to grow with companies like Games Workshop going so hard for ESG and DEI bullshit.
