How vengeful do you have to be in order to dox a guy, or at least host the dox, then when he's rightfully pissed that it happened, you turn around and try legal action against him. You might think that it's all publicaly available info, but you don't have to host it, or egg it on wanting more. That just makes you look like you wanted it there.
On the sidescrollers podcast Grummz mentions the guy has him blocked on X. So he had to hate watch a stream to find out what was going on, about a guy he's trying to avoid, but also desperately wants to know what he thinks.
Then he mentions on X that he's seeking legal action. Again in a place where the guy he's trying to legal-fu cannot see.
I mean, there's being pedantic, there's being immature, and then there's this level of absolute buffoonery. How do you let something like this fester so much that you think this is going to make it look better?
And I thought I held some grudges. This is just schoolyard bully behavior. Just meet under the slide and have it out already.
Now do you understand why even individual communists are threats?
Yeah this is a shitshow since from what I heard, a ĺot of the dox on Grummz originated off the escapist/second wind discord which is ONLY available by becoming a patron. If that's correct, Nick is in DEEP legal hot waters as it means he's taking money to aide in providing a forum to conduct illegal activity.
I was listening to that sidescrollers podcast, when Grummz was talking, apparently Nick tried to get on too but Craig refused knowing it would be a shitshow and offered for him to come on later so this legal challenge sounds like a desperate appeal to public opinion than anything.
I'm more inclined to believe Grummz because he's ALREADY a proven target of this kind of shit already so doesn't take much to believe others doing the same if they don't see much consequences from doing it previously.
Nick's excuse, in one of his tweets, is that "it's not his home, it's his business!" Except he works from home, so it's one and the same.
Then someone trolled him by posting a message about how they found his house in the PUBLIC ownership records and he whines that "it's not the same!"
The poast was made private.
One of the funniest things to do is provide fake info, preferably generated from a fake-user maker. Keep the enemy in a permanent state of confusion, or even better, help them get lost in Siberia where a polar bear mauls them while Babushska laughs in the background.
This has been my standard for the 15 years I had internets.
That's the plot of the song "Saginaw, Michigan"

you'd need to provide real info if you want to run a legit business
And get robbed? Hard pass.
PS: I also accept cash, monero, gold, brass, copper, aluminium, steel, coal, charcoal, cows and chickens.
This ass is a cofounder of second wind? The place Yahtzee went to? What the fuck is going on?
That company was basically built whilst the escapist was still paying him to be editor in chief of their site. He had everything ready to go and when they finally fired him for shit performance (presumably because he was too busy with his personal project), he immediately got all the pre-arranged poached staff together and hit play on second wind. He's demonstrably a backstabbing snake, this is entirely on brand.
Who the fuck even are these people and why should we give a shit?
I think it's part of nu-gamergate drama.
Wish we could do pure reciprocity but the legal process is against us. It’s either left leaning law or law abiding. Law abiding and we have a chance of winning. Left leaning and there is 0 chance of winning. If Grummz doxxes him back, he will have a lawsuit that heavily leans against him.
In this case, let the dumbass sue Grummz. Legally, Grummz can counter-sue as Nick will need to be legally present.
Part of what makes SJWs so incredibly obnoxious is the more public facing ringleaders know to say "nooooo, don't do violence on them, that would be awful" with a big fat unspoken "(p.s. this means do violence on them)". The delivery is barely believable but it's plausible deniability enough to keep them out of hot water more often than it should do.
As long as Grummz only says that publicly and doesn't make any specific actions to stop it, than I still consider that part of a fair turnabout.
Grummz does good work at collecting and putting a spotlight on industry leaks with specifics about the shitty DIE pushing in current big gaming projects. He's regularly airing their dirty laundry and shitting up their PR enough that even normies start to notice occasionally.
It's a task he's particularly well suited for because of his industry connections, a reliable reputation and what appears to be an unshakable devotion T&A in videogame character design and staunch opposition to those who would remove it. Him giving a slam dunk ToS violation that gets his reach squashed is just wasting a good resource.
In general I agree that more people should be advocating for abandoning pointless pussy passivity in the name of "civility" and striking back. But always doing the opposite of your enemy is still just letting your enemy dictate your moves. You've got to be pragmatic about it and let people play to their strengths. Not everyone has to be a shock trooper, and grummz is in a good, albeit tenuous, position to do good intel and counter PR and I think it's an overall positive if he's smart about holding onto that position.
just for legal purposes, he can't just tell the viewers to dox the other guy, regardless of how he feels personally
