Come on AoV, that’s lazy even for you. AOC saying something she would never actually support or do is this thing called virtue signaling, I’m sure you’ve heard of it before.
I don't think it is. I think it fits well with their belief that there is no difference between men and women. It is not a coincidence that it is cultural liberals pushing for this and cultural conservatives opposing.
Besides, neither men nor women are going to be drafted, so in that sense, you are correct that it is an empty virtue-signal.
Cultural liberals aren’t. Troons prefer to be considered women and not be drafted, there was an entire leftist meltdown because Ukrainian troons were forced to stay and fight like the men. Women will gladly say they will carry their fair share until you hand it to them, that’s an inherent trope that’s been on display since the suffragettes.
