It's pathetic how Yasuke has basically become accepted as a real person who definitely existed. The propaganda has been put on repeat and pushed for so long now that any debate of his actual existence is over.
Talk to any retard and they will not even entertain the idea that the "evidence" from Jesuit writings may have been fabricated or embellished for the sake of a promotion. They will merely say that there is other evidence, without knowing what that evidence is. The idea of even questioning his existence is seen as taboo to the average normie. Even people who are against his inclusion in Assassin's Creed are merely arguing that he was only a "Retainer" and not a "Samurai," giving legitimacy to the historical revisionism that is being attempted.
The overton window will continue to shift to the point where Yasuke's existence will be elevated to "he was an important warrior in Nobunuga's army" because leftists and dishonest Historians will pull shit out of their ass and reference each other in circular reporting until the normies begin to accept it as true because it makes them sound smarter to know some random historical fact.
Yeah. What I'm getting at is that samurai themselves weren't supposed to be sneaking around.
Much of peoples' view of people like the Samurai glosses over the fact that many of them were massively violent arseholes even by ISIS standards and the modern view of Bushido is hollywood nonsense.
We're talking regular beheadings and torture as well as a the concept of seppuku which yes. The Japanese might have defended that back in the day but at the end of the day it's one of the worse forms of ritual suicide out there. Rigid caste system that makes the Indians look like pussies with how they enforce there's and anybody underneath the samurai was treated as literal cattle.
The caste system and their loyalty programming is so bad that even to this day you have that shit rocking around a bit in the modern workplace which is obviously unhealthy for them mentally and it shows because the young Japanese of today are in a mental health crisis. It's small wonder they turned on the samurai class and adopt the western systems, it was probably to save their own skins.
Modern Japanese society isn't as bad as what went on back in the day by comparison, but this is also why I go out of my way to warn any would-be expats think twice about the asian communities before you go into them thinking you're going to land a waifu and make sure you really understand asian communities before you commit.
Maybe that's where I'd disagree; I try not to warn expats, because I think t's pretty good litmus test. The annoying tourist gets the mattress wrap treatment and the worst stay ever - hopefully a permanent ban from specific places. The tourist that does their research and doesn't make an ass of themselves has a pretty good time.
Besides, the scenario of the whiny, entitled loser getting cuckzoned even after spending a shitton of money is, I think - actually pretty funny.
Oh that's true, I think though in defence of guys they put the weaboo glasses on when it comes to asian countries sometimes. I know I've been guilty of that a bit when I was younger but that's a classic example of why doing real research will slap out any silly ideas you have about a country.
I mean just recently picking out a random country most people might never have heard of I was researching Laos just to show I'm not full of shit on the research front. Seems a bit of a typical religious asian country right? Oh boy when you look into it some of the sex laws they make Dubai look moderate because you can't even have pre-marital sex with anyone in the country. They also have a real thing against showing any kind of skin unless you're obviously swimming.

Didn't know this either but looked it up and yeahhhh lol looks like shit is going down in that country quite a bit. Again, bringing this up as an example, always do your research and try not to be an douchebag treating the world as your playground.
Fun fact: One of the things samurai like to do when they receive a new sword is test it out on the nearest peasant.
